WE ARE ALIVE!!

OK - we are still here and alive but technology has not been kind to us. I have typed up a blog for each day that we have missed so for those with the time and interest can scroll down to "Sunday" and read about our week. For those who want the cliff notes version here it goes:
We arrived Sunday night at the Korvet and there were no travel issues. We found out that our meeting with the MOE would be Monday at 9am which was great! We also discovered that we had to wait a day for internet(which turned out to be all week for us). We got internet access Monday night but our apple laptop would not let us pull up any pages that required logins - so no blogging, no emails, only browsing and SKYPE(that was what we really needed so God did provide). Oh, by the way, we also could not use our calling card because of the rotary phone at the hotel so all charged were to the room! See the price below(phone way more expensive then internet).
Meeting with MOE went well and we got to the orphanage that morning. We got info and were able to quickly meet the kids. Now for the bad news, we had to decline the little girl due to medical reasons. We were given a new referral but there were medical issues there too. So GOOD NEWS - we have a beautiful little boy. He is adorable, somewhat quite, happy and a little ornery(sp?) He opened up to us as the week went along and we can not wait to get back to him. Hopefully in about 2 months.

We were blessed with traveling with Greg and Kyley(check out their blog off to the side) and Rai-Lynn an Donnie(same couple we were with the last trip). It was so wonderful to laugh at ourselves together - they all made they trip that much more fun.

We are now back in Moscow. the trip went very well except for the 5 am wake up. Greg and Kyley( the plane was actually comfortable before take off today-no dripping sweat-but it was full). A decent car ride to the hotel( not too much traffic) and now I am just catching up on blogging and emailing. We decided to pay the $40 all day internet service at the hotel because it is a lot easier to catch up now then when we get home.

Well it is 2:30 here and we are going to grab something to eat and do a little more sight seeing. We do not have to leave until around 9am Saturday so time to relax after a stressful week.
Pray for a safe return, and a calm, awake state as I finish up gathering all our papers next week. God Bless!

Monica & Russ,
I am so happy to hear that your trip has been exciting. I know how hard it must have been to turn down 1 of the 2 referrals, but your heart always knows the truth.

I can't wait to hear more. Have a safe trip home.
